The voluntary codes on Good Governance are very useful tool for trustees of charitable entities to ensure that they are managing the charity effectively. The National Management Committee believes that the Governance Code is the best tool available for SI at national level to facilitate good management and governance. A lesser version of the code is available for Scout Groups and this is being examined as part of the Scout Group Governance Review Project.. Complying with the Governance Code will ensure that there is an environment within the organisation at national level or local level to comply with all the obligations imposed by law.
